One Day in October

About the project

The Shefa Fund proudly supports the powerful initiative surrounding “One Day in October,” a book by Oriya Mevorach that recounts harrowing stories of terror and resilience. This impactful project aims to raise global awareness about the horrors of terrorism while preserving the memory of those who suffered. To reach diverse audiences, the book has been translated into English, Romanian, Korean, and Yiddish. In Israel alone, more than 40,000 copies have been sold, making it a significant tool for education and remembrance.

Beyond publishing, the project includes lectures and events designed to engage communities worldwide, fostering understanding and solidarity. By sharing these stories across cultures, the Shefa Fund seeks to unite people against terror and highlight the resilience of the human spirit. Each translation and presentation helps to amplify the message, ensuring that the lessons of these events are neither forgotten nor ignored.

Light to the North

About the project

The Shefa Fund’s “Light to the North” project focuses on rehabilitating and strengthening communities in northern Israel affected by recent crises. This initiative aims to encourage the return of evacuees and support their reintegration into local life, fostering a sense of stability and belonging. The project emphasizes building community resilience through targeted assistance, helping residents integrate into employment opportunities and educational institutions, ensuring a smoother transition back to normalcy.

In addition to community-wide efforts, “Light to the North” offers personalized support, including aid with school enrollments and private tutoring for children. These measures aim to ensure that families and individuals, especially the younger generation, can thrive both socially and academically. By addressing immediate needs while investing in long-term development, the Shefa Fund seeks to transform challenges into opportunities, reigniting hope and strengthening the northern communities for a brighter future.

The Next Battle

About the project

The Shefa Fund’s “The Next Battle” project is dedicated to supporting Israeli citizens and soldiers suffering from the psychological wounds of war. Recognizing the severe mental and emotional toll of battle trauma, the project aims to provide access to psychological and psychiatric treatments for those in need. Through partnerships with leading mental health professionals, the fund ensures victims receive timely and effective care to help them regain stability and rebuild their lives.

This initiative is a critical response to the growing need for mental health support following the devastating war. Donations to “The Next Battle” directly fund therapy sessions, psychiatric consultations, and rehabilitation programs designed to heal the invisible scars of trauma. By enabling these treatments, the Shefa Fund not only helps individuals recover but also strengthens the resilience of Israeli society as a whole, paving the way for a more secure and hopeful future.
